In this mailing list, the new standard is named "RFC822bis", but that is not very fanciful either. Here are some proposals for names for the standard to replace RFC822: GIM General Internet Mail GIMS General Internet Mail Standard SHIM Standard for Headers in Internet Mail SUAIM Standard for User Agent Interaction in Mail SIM Standard for Internet Mail SIMDIM Standard for Internet Mail Data Interface for Messages IMSHAC Internet Mail Standard for Headers And Content HAFIM Headers and Format of Internet Mail All of these are easy to pronounce in English. Personally I prefer SHIM of the choices above. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jacob Palme (Stockholm University and KTH) for more info see URL: http://www.dsv.su.se/~jpalme
