I like this proposal, for one reason -- it removes virtually all incentive for people to get into the vanity header registration, and technically allows a vendor to officially register their own namespace, but they have to generate their own internal incentive to actually want to do so. I'm sold -- let's make the vendor-id portion of this namespace arbitrary and assigned by the registry authority.
