Changing this aspect of SMTP is likely to cause problems. Since I have objected to this change multiple times on this list and since nobody has addressed my concerns with any counterarguments, the change should be flushed from the document. I agree with this, and further, I thought that this had been discussed, and more or less agreed, in Stockholm. Why is this even still an issue? On the "send 8 bits" stuff, I agree with Keith, its a rat hole of an argument, that always ends with retaining the status quo, so please, let's not have it again. kre
