The size of multimedia messages makes support for multiple RCPT-TOs per message content transfer MANDATORY. For comparison, note the following: - a 30 second voice message requires a 120KByte body-part (G.721-encoded) - The data from Matti Aarnio show a 1KByte message body taking 5 seconds to transfer Do the math yourself: different methods of RCPT-TO negotiation are noise compared to multiple content transfers. QED. No multimedia mail system based on DRUMS will be a success if multiple RCPT-TOs are not allowed - I'll stretch this and say that SMTP will become irrelevant if DRUMS concentrates on "what percentage of the installed based implements X" to the exclusion of considering the needs of the imminent multimedia messaging systems being developed today.
