(e) Kahle v. Ashcroft

Mozart After Hours

originally submitted by Dean F. Sutherland:

This is an album originally issued by Vanguard records in the 1950s. It's been out of print since the 1960s.

Stifled uses

Dean F. Sutherland:

Gershon Kingsley -- the arranger/band-leader -- is alive and well and has a web-site. None-the-less, I've been unable to determine who the actual copyright holder is. I grew up listening to this album. I've transferred it to CD for personal use (I retain the original vinyl), and would like to provide copies to the rest of the family. But I'd also like to be sure that all the creative types involved in making the album get their proper royalties. Who do I get a license from? How much do I pay them? I can't tell. Sigh.
