Stifled uses

Brad Zankel:

I ended up buying vcds ripped from the old VHS casettes that are no longer sold from ebay so that my 4 year old cousin could enjoy a tv show I loved as a kid.

Rob Clark:

Figure Drawing For All It's Worth, by Andrew Loomis.

Time and time again, I would hear older artists refer to the works of Andrew Loomis - specificly the above mentioned book. Mr. Loomis is, sadly, deceased and it would seem the majority of his books have been out of print since the early 70's.

I finally procured my copy of his book, via a used and rare book store for the cost of $125. It should be noted that the only benefactor of this was the used book store - not the author, nor his estate. I know a great number of other artists who would love to be able to enjoy this man's works - a number of them willing to scan their own copies in and distribute them online were it only legal to do so.

Joseph Rock:

I was dismayed to learn that my nieces have never seen, nor heard of Fraggle Rock, especially given that their last name coincides with the show's name. My attempts to purchase a copy failed, since the copyright holder refuses to sell the works, nor release them to the public.
