(e) Kahle v. Ashcroft

Art work: Video game

originally submitted by Dan French:

Any old video game artwork. Example: StarTrek by Sega. (Manufactured 1982)
Need to (re) make the side-art for the video game.
(The concept holds true for most any '70-80's video game) The companies are not making parts, and I cannot get it reproduced (copyright violation) and I don't have the skills to reproduce it myself. Notice that these "works of art" are basically a large glorified sticker. In some instances they are cross copy-righted (in this instance Paramount & Sega) and in other cases they are from companies that are out of business. Note that the term "art work" also holds true for circut boards as well. If a circut board needs to be repaired (replaced) and the original manufacturer is not able (willing) to supply, the repair may not be possible.

Stifled uses

Dan French:

For me personally: Restore my video game back to it's original condition. Generally: permit companies to re-manufacture parts (artwork, circut boards) necessary to restore/repair the piece back to orginal condition.
